What is HDL quality/function?

Higher HDL levels are better, but HDL must be in good working condition to perform its roles properly.

It’s like a truck – if it’s not in good working condition, it can’t deliver its cargo. Even if you have many trucks, they won’t help much if their engines are weak or their capacity is poor.

HDL quality and function determine how well those trucks perform; how efficiently they collect cholesterol, how smoothly they move, and how effectively they deliver it for metabolism.
